Carefully avoiding Valentine's Day, BACFI's first event of the year on 13th February got us off to a good start with a mixture of serious thought and entertainment. Chaired by Lord Hoffmann, our Ethics roundtable kicked off with Professor Andy Boon of City University, was kicked about by Nina Barakzai, Chair of the Commerce & Industry Group and kicked into touch with questions and comments from the fully booked audience;ably and additionally fielded by Christiane Valansot and Andrew Walker QC, Chair of the Bar Council's Professional Practice Committee. [Whew, that's enough sporting metaphors, Ed.]
As usual, Middle Temple provided an excellent Amity Supper for BACFI and C&I members and their guests afterwards, as the photos show.
