On 10 September BACFI held a seminar on the EU Alternative Dispute Resolution Directive and Online Dispute Resolution Regulation. Robin Somerville a serving ombudsman, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an LLM graduate in International and Comparative Dispute Resolution led the seminar which was held at the wonderful new offices of TT International in Threadneedle Street, London. Robin outlined the ADR Directive and the ODR Regulation and the new obligations the impose on businesses about how they handle disputes. He highlighted the commercial implications for all businesses and offered commercial solutions for compliance that could save organisations cost, create competitive advantage and improve added value. He also shared ideas for developing practice in this field.
